About Me
I'm Christina Eilar ("aye-lahr"),
a life-long Santa Paulan dedicated to our hardworking community. My roots are here, in the Mexican-American farmworker history of Ventura County, and are the reason I want to strengthen and support Santa Paula into the future.
As a community advocate, I speak out on issues of affordable housing, access to higher education, and the health, safety and well-being of the Santa Paula community.
I graduated from MIT with a bachelor's degree in mathematics, then worked in Santa Paula at Hayward Baker/Keller as a Project Manager for Geo-Instruments before beginning a career as a librarian. Now I work in higher education at ArtCenter College of Design in the library department, and I am working toward a master's degree in Library and Information Science. Sharing caregiver work for a family member, I am part of SEIU 2015.
Some roles I've had supporting the Santa Paula community include former Blanchard Community Library Trustee, Immediate Past President of Santa Paula Latino Town Hall and community representative on the Santa Paula Police Chief Interview Panel, as well as many hours spent volunteering and collaborating with our many wonderful non-profit organizations and community organizers.
